About Us
"Not for ourselves but for each other"
In 2020 Jack & Tim went for a walk. Friends from school, they wanted a way to bring the rest of their school friends together routinely each year. Settling on sport, they decided the best one for a group of hardly active 30-somethings to play was cricket. The next step was to mention it to their other school friend Alex whose enthusiasm got Sidcot Old Boys created.
Our Story
The team had their first game in 2022, playing Bridgetown CC in Devon, close to where most of the players grew up. The team was made up of school friends including 3 sets of brothers. With varying cricketing experiences, expectations weren't high despite the hour-long fielding position training prior to the game. Despite all this, we were pleasantly surprised when we gave a solid account of ourselves and were keen to improve and try again next year.

Following many net sessions, and a few new faces, we went into the 2022 season with a sense of excitement and optimism. Our first game came with our first win. The commitment to training had paid wonders with a remarkable improvement, further proven by an epic one-run, last-ball victory in the next game.
